BBQ tofu on skateboard series
Yesterday man-about-town Nick visited The Lunch Room. He needed a meal that he could eat while skateboarding. We fixed him up with a BBQ tofu sandwich.
First he got his bearings.
The first bite was finger-lickin’-good.
Nick gives the sandwich his full attention for a moment.
Oh yeah!!
Herbs and cookies at the cart
Cookies are a big deal at The Lunch Room. We keep them freshly baked and stocked and for most of our customers they are a very satisfying ending to a delicious meal.
Our display case contains blackstrap molasses gingersnaps, Mexican hot chocolate cookies (right) and chocolate chip cookies made with oats and cinnamon.
There are many people who stop by regularly just for a cookie or two. They...

The cart has windows & interior walls... getting...
Yesterday we had a long workday at the food cart. Despite the disappointment over continued chilly, mostly gray weather, an enthusiastic crew covered much of the interior with FRP (fiberglass reinforced panels) aka Marlite aka bumpy board, and installed the most kickass service windows ever invented. We are greatly indebted to our fantastic volunteer builders!

The cart has a roof, a door & walls!
Yesterday the food cart took a huge leap forward. Through intermittent sun, clouds, rain, snow, warmth and cold winds, the brave crew finished the wiring, installed roofing material, put on the door, sawed and hammered into place interior plywood walls, painted the letters, and made a step for the door. WOW!
Joel and Jeri celebrate atop their newly built door step.
